So Far...

Hello everybody!
School Hallway (I know not very interesting, but still)

I am yet again posting another post. This one is not really about much, so don't get excited. I have the one picture I was able to take of the school with out looking like a loser (I will try to get more). School is pretty boring I suppose, everyone is super nice but still I am a little intimidated by everything. Lunch is possibly the scariest thing ever, it is incredibly crowded and trying to find somewhere to sit is impossible.  There is so much homework and maths is annoying (sarah and kate, you actually have to do the homework). The other night I went to the movies and the mall for like ten minutes whilst I was there it was pretty awesome I want to go back and shop some more. I went to a candy store it was awesome, being diabetic it was a little annoying not being able to buy mounds of american lollies, but I still bought some unusual things. Also there was a lego store, dedicated to lego. Jakie you are can be amazed, it had most likely every single lego in the world (most likely exaggerating).

The amazing lego shop

Candy Store!

Also the other night there was like an exchange student party (where all of the exchange students got together, hence the name). It was awesome, I got to go over early and do what was called tubing (I've got some videos and photos). It was awesome and I loved meeting everyone from all of the different countries. Apparently we all get together soon and go to Chicago or something, which will be awesome and I can't wait.

Here are some photos of the awesome tubing!
Taking off!

The boat (there wasn't a roof, we were under this cover thing) it was awesome!

TUBING!

action shot.

So as you can see, it was pretty awesome fun. Also I ate s'mores, which were nice but sooo sugary. I think I am settling in but I still get waves of homesickness where I want to see everyone, hopefully I will get fewer and fewer waves of it. I will try get some more photos of school and maybe I'll go to another football game and take some photos.

Also add Rachel Trotter and Savannah Oneacre on facebook :)

Indianapolis in General

Well I have now been in Indianapolis for one week, and it has been quite interesting so far. I am not going to bore you with the first couple of days, because I literally did nothing exciting (besides set up my classes for school and go to a mall). On the Saturday night I went to the fair, and I am sure you have been informed about what went down that night so again I will not repeat it. On the Sunday evening Rachel invited her friends from Lawrence North (the high school) over, so I could have some familiar faces on the Tuesday. Which was very helpful, Thank you Rachel and to all of her friends who have looked after me at the school. I am very grateful as you have made my school experience much more bearable.

On the Tuesday I began school. It was horrible, the school was massive and I got lost nearly every time I stepped foot out of the classroom. Now I am perhaps being a little dramatic, as everyone was very friendly and I did quite enjoy the american movie/t.v show sort of a feel I had when I was sitting in class. Now not only is the school ten times bigger than PCW, I had to find everything on crutches (oh by the way, I twisted my knee or something and I am now on crutches for the next couple of days) which is horrifying. Everyday has gotten a little easier, and I am very slowly working out my coordinates in the school and I am starting to get into the new school routine.

The incredible (wisteria lane kind of looking) street

Now if you look at the photos I have posted you will be able to see how American the street is I am living in. It is beautiful, and it is not only this neighbourhood it is every neighbourhood. The streets remind me of Wisteria Lane, and it just generally looks amazing. The backyard is incredible and the other day I saw a deer out there. Next time I see another one I am going to take a photo because it was just incredible.

Hollister (the new Dennis)

Oliver (Monty crossed with Lionel, I don't know why he reminds me of Lionel).

Backyard

More Backyard, isn't it awesome?

I can't think of anything else to write, but I will most likely post something next week as tomorrow night I am going to my first ever American Football match! Lawrence North vs Lawrence Central! I am so excited, and I can't wait. Also everyone was saying they had problems with posting comments, and I tried and it seemed to work so I am not sure. Perhaps you're all technologically retarded? But I have no idea why that isn't working, please just email me or try and post again.

Indiana State Fair

Hi Everyone (again)

Last night we went to the Indiana State fair (I'm not sure if anyone heard what happened). After about 20-30 minutes of being there an incredible storm started to brew. It was incredibly scary, as all of a sudden a huge wind picked up and the sky started to turn grey and horrible. People started to run inside, and everyone sort of turned into a panic. Being me, I also turned into a panic as I HATE wind and I heard people saying things like 'tornado warning' and 'a huge storm was coming'. As we went inside, many more people were in an even worst state of panic. We then heard from people what had just occurred outside, apparently the stage had blown over onto the crowd and many people were badly injured.

At this point we were inside, waiting until the storm blew over. When we had all reunited, we decided to try and make our way to the car. It was still raining, so we got quite wet, but the storm had nearly finished (besides the rain). We got into the car, and found out exactly what had happened earlier and made our way home.

We were all starving as we hadn't had the chance to eat any of the amazing and crazy fair food (i.e donut burger or deep fried anything, literally anything) so we stopped off at McDonald's and got some take out. Although I didn't exactly have a 'normal' fair experience, it was incredible, freaky, frightening and amazing being able to experience that on my third night in Indianapolis.

If you want to know exactly what happened (as I am still not really that sure) read this article:

I'll try get some photos and post them up later.

San Francisco

Golden Gate Bridge!

Me walking across the Golden Gate Bridge (I'm not blinking, it was so windy that I could barely open them)

Pier 39, these seals reminded me of Dennis

Me at pier 39 (I think I am blinking this time)

San Francisco

 California's Great America Entrance

Hi Everyone!
I arrived in San Francisco at about 2.30pm this Tuesday. After crying, feeling sick and just generally having a crap time, the plane trip was finally over. All up I think I travelled bout 23 hours from Melbourne to San Francisco, which was hell! As soon as we got here I was so tired, but they made us all go to this amusement park called 'California's Great America'. I wasn't feeling too well, because at this point I hadn't had a comfortable sleep for around two days but ended up quite enjoying myself.

The next day was very packed in with different activities. In the morning we had a whole group orientation, where they showed us a slide of the general information we will need to know. After this we split up into smaller groups and did more general information activities. After this we had a tour of San Francisco, which was amazing! We started off by going to a mountain/hill kind of a thing to look at the whole city, which was incredible. We then went to the Golden Gate Bridge and walked across it, this was possibly the first time I have ever enjoyed walking across a bridge so much. The sights were amazing! You could almost see the whole city, and you could look out into the ocean and see other islands such as Alcatraz (which is an old jail, amazing but unfortunately we couldn't get the boat out to visit it). We then went to pier 39, which is like a touristy pier with shops, restaurants and beautiful views out onto the ocean. We had dinner here and then went along the pier and went shopping (Jakie, Marley and Tilly Carrodus be excited!)

We arrived back at the hotel at around 9.00pm, at around 10.00pm we had a final meeting to discuss everyones flights in the morning. This meeting ended up going for around 3 hours, and by the time everything was sorted I didn't get back to my until 1.00am. I had to meet down stairs at 5.00am, meaning I ended up getting 2 and half hours sleep. At the airport I checked in and now I am just sitting in the airport waiting for my flight (we arrived 2 hours early, why did they not let us sleep in longer?)

I will check in again once I have spent a few days in Indianapolis, and I'll try post some San Francisco photos up as soon as I can. I'm new to this blog thing so please give me any advice or feedback about it as I have no idea how to really use it.

Speak to everyone soon!
